Find The Funny: Comedy Intensive

The 6-week series begins January 9 in Los Angeles

Nail Your Comedic Auditions Like A Pro

Comedic acting requires the perfect balance of art and science. The comedic audition is even more complex. Unlike drama, where you have the freedom to fully live out your character’s emotional discoveries and decisions, comedy is built on timing and precision.

One extra uh, or a beat too long, and your comedic audition falls like a souffle.

Auditions don’t come around every day, so as an actor, it’s critical to be able deliver on any opportunity that comes your way.

So we have to ask, “Are you shooting yourself in the foot when you audition for comedies?”

Comedy is complicated, but the good news is, we can help! Our 6-week comedy intensive shows you a proven, step-by-step formula to “Find The Funny” in all your comedic auditions.

BE Ready So You Don’t Have To GET Ready

Whether you’re new to comedy, or you’re looking for an intense comedic workout, our 6-week intensive will whip you into shape.

You’ll walk away with a proven, plug and play approach to comedic auditions that you can use time and time again.

Get Serious About Comedy

Great comedy comes from fear, anger, conflict and pain. Sounds like fun, doesn’t it?!?

Comedy is serious business. You can’t just wing it. Trying to “be funny” isn’t going to fly. Comedic characters are dead serious about their predicaments.

Comedic acting techniques use words like, “Timing,” “High Stakes,” or “The Rule of Three”…but what does that actually mean for your acting? How do you “do” that in your audition scene?

We can help.

Introducing: Find The Funny

What is it?

Our 6-week intensive training will teach you exactly what you need to know to create comedic auditions that book the job. Not only will you learn a step-by-step audition approach to comedy, you will get up on your feet each week to put your skills to the test.

What can I expect from this class?

To master any skill, you can’t just read about it. It’s not enough to understand it. You have to practice it.

Each week you’ll prepare a comedic audition, put yourself on tape, and see the playback. This is the fastest way for you learn what works, and what needs work.

Plus, your audition scenes are chosen to help you rise to the real-world audition challenges you will face, (if you haven’t already), to give you ultimate confidence in your process, in your choices, and most importantly, in the audition room.

You will walk away from this class with a proven approach to comedy that will serve you for the rest of your career.

Class size is limited to 12 so that you’ll get all the personal attention you need to thrive.

“I enjoyed Find The Funny class for many reasons…I learned a lot about comedic acting and sitcom’s, for one.  But the best part was getting to practice what we were learning on camera with good comedy scenes!  All of the practice and the insightful coaching which she gives really works…I just booked a two day costar roll on The Odd Couple!!! I felt so confident walking into the Casting room, it was a wonderful feeling 🙂  I definitely had applied a lot of what we learned in class to my preparation and presentation!”

“Lilach is absolutely amazing to work with! Not only does she help you think outside the box and bring something to casting directors that they have not seen but she makes you confident and believe in yourself without a doubt. She encourages you, helps you find your own answers thus helping your over all acting. I would recommend her a 1000X over.”

My bookings have increased and I know it’s directly attributed to what I’ve learned in class. Lilach is VERY good at analyzing the text. She sees things that I completely overlook. Highly suggest this class if you’re feeling nervous in the audition room or simply want to exercise that audition muscle more.”

Yvonne Senate

The stakes and the pressure are sky-high in the audition room. And comedic auditions are even harder to pull off. Most actors play it safe, they fear doing “too much” and instead end up doing a whole lot of nothing.

In drama (not to say that it’s easy), if you can stay connected and authentic in the moment, you just might be able to pull off a great dramatic audition.

Comedy doesn’t work like that. You can’t wing it. You can’t let yourself get rusty.

You never know when that big break is coming. Don’t blow it because you’re not ready. That wouldn’t be very funny.

“Dying Is Easy, Comedy Is Hard”

Most actors underestimate just how much energy it takes to craft an effective comedic audition.

Comedic acting is a highly specialized skill. Comedic auditioning requires even more ability. Without the benefit of a set, props, wardrobe, other actors, a director, and the rehearsal process, it’s up to you to figure out how to generate this on your own.

You have to drive the scene forward, set the pace (no matter who your reader is), nail the timing, land the jokes, and make it all seem natural, authentic and spontaneous. How do you keep all these plates spinning?

Comedy is hard.

But it’s worth the effort.

Imagine how many more opportunities open up to you with a proven approach to comedic auditions?

Yes, it takes hard work, and no, we can’t do the work for you. But we can teach you our step-by-step approach to powerful, effective, comedic auditions that book jobs.

After 6 weeks in Find the Funny, you will know exactly what to do for every comedic audition.

No guesswork. No blindly pulling choices out of thin air. No winging it.

Just simple steps to follow. They really work.
